When a Mexican traveller does need a visa

Cross the 90-day line, or come to work, study long-term, or reside, and you need a visa arranged ahead of time — the Moroccan consulate in Mexico City handles those. A standard holiday or a run of business meetings does not.

Getting there, and the ties behind the trip

No airline flies Mexico to Morocco without a stop; Mexican itineraries almost always thread through Madrid, the densest air bridge Mexico has to the Iberian Peninsula, before the short hop to Casablanca. The commercial relationship behind many of those trips has grown fast — two-way trade reached roughly US$650 million in 2023, and a cooperation agreement signed that year set out to deepen ties in cars, agri-food and renewable energy.
