Morocco Visa for Albanian Citizens: Are You Eligible?

Albania's Schengen visa-free access is not the document you need

An Albanian passport does not qualify by itself, and the access Albanians already enjoy — visa-free short stays in the Schengen Area — is the very thing that misleads here. That is not a visa; the eVisa asks for an actual visa or residence permit.

The countries go back further than most of Albania's ties: Morocco was the first Maghreb state to open relations with Tirana, in 1962, decades before Albania's own opening to Western Europe.

Which documents make you eligible

Eligibility rests on a second document you already hold. Morocco accepts two kinds, and they are not interchangeable — one is a visa, the other a residence permit:

An accepted multiple-entry sticker visa. A valid multiple-entry visa issued by the Schengen Area, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan or Ireland. It must remain valid for at least 90 days from your arrival in Morocco. A single-entry visa does not qualify.

An accepted residence permit. A valid residence permit issued by any European Union country, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Norway, Switzerland or the United Arab Emirates. It must remain valid for at least 180 days from your arrival.

The document must be genuine, currently valid and in your own name. Because these conditions decide the whole trip, confirm yours with the eligibility check before you rely on it.

Where Albanian applicants usually qualify

Albania has visa-free short-stay access to the Schengen Area, but that access is not a visa and does not make you eligible. The route opens instead through a residence permit — common among the large Albanian communities in Italy and Greece — or through an actual multiple-entry visa from one of the accepted countries.

If you hold none of these documents

Then the eVisa is not available, and you would apply for a consular visa at the Moroccan mission responsible for Albania.
