Core Information
Vietnam: eligible for the Morocco eVisa on the passport alone
An ordinary Vietnamese passport qualifies for the Morocco eVisa directly. The application asks for the passport and nothing more — no US or Schengen visa, no residence permit, none of the third-country conditions Morocco attaches to some other nationalities. What you receive is a single-entry authorisation for a tourist or business visit, approved online before departure.
An old tie between the two countries
The Morocco–Vietnam relationship predates the eVisa by seventy years. During the First Indochina War, Moroccan troops serving in the French army went over to the Viet Minh, and around 150 remained in Vietnam after the 1954 armistice. In Ba Vì, west of Hanoi, they built a Moorish-style arch known as the “Morocco Gate”; Hanoi and the Moroccan embassy restored it in 2018, and Morocco later raised a matching “Vietnam Gate” in return. It is an unusually personal history for two countries so far apart.
Flights from Vietnam to Morocco
No route runs nonstop. Most travellers change once — typically at a Gulf airport or in Istanbul — before landing at Casablanca. Because the trip always transits a third country, check whether that country requires its own transit visa for Vietnamese passport holders before you book.
Before you begin
The first thing to check is passport validity, which needs to cover your travel dates with room to spare. Everything else — the document list, the current fee, and how long approval takes — is laid out in our Morocco eVisa guide.
