Morocco Visa for Nigerian Citizens: Are You Eligible?

Eligibility hinges on a second document you already hold

A Nigerian passport does not open the eVisa by itself. What settles your case is a document you may already carry — an accepted multiple-entry visa or residence permit. Hold one and you apply online; hold none and a consular visa is the correct path.

The relationship reaches well beyond travel: in 2016, during King Mohammed VI's state visit to Abuja, the two countries launched the Nigeria–Morocco Atlantic gas pipeline — planned as the world's longest offshore line and the flagship of Morocco's push into West Africa.

Which documents make you eligible

Eligibility rests on a second document you already hold. Morocco accepts two kinds, and they are not interchangeable — one is a visa, the other a residence permit:

An accepted multiple-entry sticker visa. A valid multiple-entry visa issued by the Schengen Area, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan or Ireland. It must remain valid for at least 90 days from your arrival in Morocco. A single-entry visa does not qualify.

An accepted residence permit. A valid residence permit issued by any European Union country, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Norway, Switzerland or the United Arab Emirates. It must remain valid for at least 180 days from your arrival.

The document must be genuine, currently valid and in your own name. Because these conditions decide the whole trip, confirm yours with the eligibility check before you rely on it.

Where Nigerian applicants usually qualify

Large Nigerian communities in the United Kingdom and the United States mean many travellers already hold a UK or US multiple-entry visa, which is the most common way Nigerians meet the condition. A residence permit held while studying or working in the EU, the UK or the US qualifies in the same way. A frequent, well-stamped Nigerian passport with none of these documents still does not qualify.

If you hold none of these documents

Then the eVisa is not available to you, and you would apply for a consular visa at the Moroccan embassy or consulate responsible for Nigeria, which handles the application in person.
