Morocco Visa for Nepali Citizens: Are You Eligible?

For Nepali applicants, one Gulf detail settles most cases

A Nepali passport is not sufficient on its own; a second document is what counts. Because so many Nepali travellers work in the Gulf, a single rule about which Gulf permit qualifies decides the majority of applications.

The scale of Nepal's Gulf migration is hard to overstate — Nepali workers are estimated at more than a tenth of Qatar's entire population — which is why, for Nepal more than almost anywhere, the road to a Morocco eVisa runs through a Gulf work permit.

Which documents make you eligible

Eligibility rests on a second document you already hold. Morocco accepts two kinds, and they are not interchangeable — one is a visa, the other a residence permit:

An accepted multiple-entry sticker visa. A valid multiple-entry visa issued by the Schengen Area, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan or Ireland. It must remain valid for at least 90 days from your arrival in Morocco. A single-entry visa does not qualify.

An accepted residence permit. A valid residence permit issued by any European Union country, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Norway, Switzerland or the United Arab Emirates. It must remain valid for at least 180 days from your arrival.

The document must be genuine, currently valid and in your own name. Because these conditions decide the whole trip, confirm yours with the eligibility check before you rely on it.

What this means for Nepalis working abroad

A large share of Nepali travellers work in the Gulf, so the decisive point is that only a United Arab Emirates residence permit is accepted there — a permit from Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait or Oman does not qualify, whatever its validity. Nepalis living in the United Kingdom, the EU or Australia qualify through their residence permit, and a multiple-entry Schengen, UK or US visa qualifies for anyone who holds one.

If you hold none of these documents

Then the eVisa is not available, and you would apply for a consular visa at the Moroccan mission responsible for Nepal.
