Morocco Visa for Comorian Citizens: Are You Eligible?

Comorian eligibility runs mainly through France

A Comorian passport does not open the eVisa by itself. For the Comoros, whose closest ties abroad are with France, the deciding document is almost always a French — and therefore European — residence permit.

The tie is unusually deep for the distance: the imams of the Comoros are trained in Morocco, through the Rabat-based Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema — a religious link that binds the archipelago to Morocco far more than geography would.

Which documents make you eligible

Eligibility rests on a second document you already hold. Morocco accepts two kinds, and they are not interchangeable — one is a visa, the other a residence permit:

An accepted multiple-entry sticker visa. A valid multiple-entry visa issued by the Schengen Area, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan or Ireland. It must remain valid for at least 90 days from your arrival in Morocco. A single-entry visa does not qualify.

An accepted residence permit. A valid residence permit issued by any European Union country, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Norway, Switzerland or the United Arab Emirates. It must remain valid for at least 180 days from your arrival.

The document must be genuine, currently valid and in your own name. Because these conditions decide the whole trip, confirm yours with the eligibility check before you rely on it.

Where Comorian applicants usually qualify

The Comoros' closest ties are with France, and most eligible Comorian travellers qualify through a French residence permit — which, as an EU permit, is accepted — or through a multiple-entry Schengen visa. Without one of these, or another accepted visa or permit, the eVisa route is not open.

If you hold none of these documents

Then the eVisa is not available, and you would apply for a consular visa at the Moroccan mission responsible for the Comoros.
