Morocco Visa for North Macedonian Citizens: Eligibility

For North Macedonians, visa-free Schengen travel is not enough

A North Macedonian passport does not open the eVisa on its own. The catch is familiar across the Western Balkans: visa-free entry to the Schengen Area feels as though it should count, but it is not a visa and does not.

North Macedonia's link to Rabat is one of the newest in the Balkans — formal relations date only to 2002 — while the residence permits that open the eVisa are mostly German and Swiss, a legacy of Yugoslav-era guest-worker migration.

Which documents make you eligible

Eligibility rests on a second document you already hold. Morocco accepts two kinds, and they are not interchangeable — one is a visa, the other a residence permit:

An accepted multiple-entry sticker visa. A valid multiple-entry visa issued by the Schengen Area, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan or Ireland. It must remain valid for at least 90 days from your arrival in Morocco. A single-entry visa does not qualify.

An accepted residence permit. A valid residence permit issued by any European Union country, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Norway, Switzerland or the United Arab Emirates. It must remain valid for at least 180 days from your arrival.

The document must be genuine, currently valid and in your own name. Because these conditions decide the whole trip, confirm yours with the eligibility check before you rely on it.

Where North Macedonian applicants usually qualify

Like other Western Balkan passports, North Macedonia has visa-free short-stay access to the Schengen Area — but that access is not a visa and does not qualify you. Eligibility comes instead from a residence permit, held by the many North Macedonians who live and work in Germany, Switzerland and Italy, or from an actual multiple-entry visa issued by one of the accepted countries.

If you hold none of these documents

Then the eVisa is not available, and you would apply for a consular visa at the Moroccan mission responsible for North Macedonia.
