Quick Answer
Core Information
Sri Lankan eligibility depends on where you already hold papers
A Sri Lankan passport does not qualify by itself. Whether the eVisa is open to you rests on a second document — and for a nationality whose communities run from the Gulf to Italy to Australia, the accepted list treats those places unevenly.
Sri Lanka has a small but vivid place in Moroccan memory. In 1344 the traveller Ibn Battuta, a native of Tangier, was received by a Jaffna ruler and made the pilgrim climb up Adam's Peak, leaving one of the era's most detailed accounts of the mountain.
Which documents make you eligible
Eligibility rests on a second document you already hold. Morocco accepts two kinds, and they are not interchangeable — one is a visa, the other a residence permit:
An accepted multiple-entry sticker visa. A valid multiple-entry visa issued by the Schengen Area, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan or Ireland. It must remain valid for at least 90 days from your arrival in Morocco. A single-entry visa does not qualify.
An accepted residence permit. A valid residence permit issued by any European Union country, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Norway, Switzerland or the United Arab Emirates. It must remain valid for at least 180 days from your arrival.
The document must be genuine, currently valid and in your own name. Because these conditions decide the whole trip, confirm yours with the eligibility check before you rely on it.
Where Sri Lankan applicants usually qualify
Sri Lanka's largest overseas communities are in the Gulf, Italy, the United Kingdom and Australia, and the accepted documents map onto them unevenly. Among the Gulf states, only a United Arab Emirates residence permit is accepted — a Saudi, Qatari or Kuwaiti permit is not. A Sri Lankan living in Italy, the UK or Australia qualifies through the residence permit, and a multiple-entry Schengen, UK or US visa qualifies for anyone who holds one.
If you hold none of these documents
Then the eVisa is not open to you, and you would apply for a consular visa at the Moroccan mission responsible for Sri Lanka.
