Core Information
Iraqi applicants: the UK first, then Europe
For Iraqi travellers the eVisa turns on a second document, and where you live decides which one you hold. Of the 21 Iraqi applications submitted through evis.ma between February and October 2026, 9 came from the United Kingdom; Germany, Sweden and Switzerland sent 2 each, Austria and Spain 1 each, and 4 came from Iraq itself. 19 of them led to an issued eVisa.
Which documents make you eligible
Morocco accepts two kinds of document, and they are not interchangeable: one is a visa, the other a residence permit.
An accepted multiple-entry visa. A valid multiple-entry visa issued by the Schengen Area, the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Norway or Japan. It must remain valid for at least 90 days from your arrival in Morocco. A single-entry visa does not qualify; an electronic visa or travel authorisation from these countries counts in the same way.
An accepted residence permit. A valid residence permit issued by any European Union country except Cyprus, the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Norway, Switzerland or the United Arab Emirates. It must remain valid for at least 180 days from your arrival.
The document must be genuine, currently valid and in your own name. Your passport must be an ordinary passport, valid for more than 90 days on the day you apply and for your whole stay in Morocco.
Iraqis living in the UK and the EU
In the United Kingdom, your residence status is held online: you prove it with a UKVI share code, and it must be valid for at least 180 days from your arrival in Morocco. See Morocco visa for UK residents. In Germany, Sweden, Austria, Spain or any other EU country except Cyprus, and in Switzerland, your residence permit counts on the same 180-day rule; Morocco visa for EU residents explains which cards and receipts count.
Applying from Iraq
A residence permit issued in Iraq does not count, so applicants living in Iraq qualify through a visa. Those who applied from Iraq used a multiple-entry Schengen visa or a UK visa in their passport. The visa must be multiple-entry and valid for at least 90 days on the day you arrive in Morocco.
Only an ordinary passport
The eVisa is issued on ordinary passports only. An application made with an Iraqi service passport could not go ahead and was refunded. If you travel on a diplomatic or service passport, contact the Moroccan embassy about your visa.
If you hold none of these documents
Then the eVisa is not open to you, and the route is a consular visa from the Moroccan embassy in Baghdad.
